Whimsical Pendant Necklace
When Covid hit I began to wear my original upcycled trivet necklace all the time, to guard against all the icky fear that was floating around. It was bright, cheerful, big, and just plain ridiculous. It had a bunch of colorful Mexican felt hearts dangling from it. I watched it changed people's mood, for at least that minute, while I was in the grocery store or the post office. At that time I couldn't see their smiles under their masks, but their eyes lit up and I could hear the muffled giggles. This oval, blue and green trivet necklace, is even more vibrant than mine was, and instead of heart dangles, it has big hot coral pink pompom dingle balls. They were a gift from a friend, who knew I was obsessed with coral pink anything. The colorful heart beats from the center of the jumbo straw pendant. It's embroidered with a green and hot pink flower. The neck rope from which the pot holder hangs is twisted up from silver-threaded purple acrylic yarn. This whimsical culinary art necklace will fit over your head and I guarantee, when wearing it, there is less chance of any ick permeating your aura, empress. And now you can see when smiles turn to giggles.

This big trivet pendant necklace is one of a series of whimsical statement necklaces I upcycled from some colorful braided straw pot holders I found. This one is big, purple and square with coral pink pompom dingle balls and a silver threaded purple acrylic neck rope. It will fit over your head. At the center of the square purple trivet is a teal green felted heart, with some pink, yellow and blue flowers embroidered on it. The heart is handmade and Mexican. Mexicans have the "cheerful" down when it comes to crafting if ya ask me. Their tequila is damned colorful too. Perhaps too colorful for my taste, if ya know what I mean. A wearable culinary art necklace created for a "square" who'd rather be a clown... or a cook.

Unique to this necklace, are the 3 colorfully embroidered pink felt hearts dangling from the bottom of the trivet. They are framed by 2 coral-pink dingle balls. Each heart has a purple, pink, or yellow pompom above it and a purple, yellow, or blue tassel hanging below. A purple heart embroidered with an orange flower beats at the center of the trivet and the pendant hangs from a thick rope I twisted up from purple and violet yarn. I made this big pendant statement necklace one day when the sky was gray and the air was bitter cold. It instantly upcycled my mood! May it uplift yours as well, empress! Add a little bounce to your day by wearing this long pendant statement necklace made with an upcycled green & purple trivet. The repurposed potholder is a long rectangle of braided straw "ribbon" sewn in a fancy floral design. The really long necklace it hangs from is crocheted from a salvaged ball of soft and fuzzy purple angora wool. This whimsical necklace has got bounce ladies, perfect for dancing. I lived on a Caribbean island for 20 years. So, the Rasta colors - red, gold, and green - have a special place in my heart. This red, gold, and green long pendant necklace is upcycled from an oval trivet made of straw ribbon, which I found while thrifting. It has a flowery design and of course, like most of my upcycled statement necklaces, it has more than just the 3 colors. The Rasta-colored braided straw flower is framed in brown and, there is an embroidered felt heart in neon green at the center of the trivet. Another heart, made of sherbet orange felt, is embroidered with a violet and purple flower. It dangles from the bottom of the trivet alongside hot coral-pink pompom dingle balls. The ridiculous pendant hangs from a long rope I twisted up using silver threaded orange yarn, so when ya dance, the necklace bounces, just like you, empress, when listening to reggae music. Yes-I!

Here's another oval red gold and green wicker trivet necklace. It's very similar to the previous long pendant necklace on this page, minus a heart, but no less lovable. Perfect for your twin or twin flame perhaps. if they also have a love for the ridiculous. The bottom dangles are all a yummy-hot coral color. Pompom dingle balls make the world go round in my experience and this necklace has 5 big ones. The orange heart at the center of the trivet is perhaps my favorite. Hard to say though, all the Mexican felt hearts I have are beautiful. So beautiful that they, instead of dingle balls, hang over the windows inside my van. Dingle-hearts. Anyhoo, THIS sherbet orange heart is embroidered with green leaves and a white crocheted flower with a red center. The combination of the swirling floral design on the trivet & the layers of lotus-like petals on the heart energetically plays with your eyes. It's trippy. This trivet statement piece also has a long and bouncy twisted rope necklace in burnt orange & coral, with a bit of shiny silver thread running through it. You'll love staring at it and your twin will too, empress!
