The flower garland on this one-of-a-kind whimsical headband is made of an assortment of faux flowers. There are fabric flowers like pink roses, mauve poinsettias, and fuchsia petunias and there are flowers I made from pinecones. They are painted pink and sparkle with white glitter.  The flowers have satin ribbon or bead centers with plastic or wire stamens. The floral garland is fixed on a black headband covered with maroon upholstery trim. It has a looping fringe design that looks like bangs. The lightweight headband makes removal and re-crowning easy, even without a mirror. 

 

All the embellishments are upcycled materials and findings, saved from ending up in a landfill. The fabric flowers and the pinecones were plucked from discarded wreaths; some of the flower centers are made from repurposed clothing or jewelry. And the maroon looped trim is scrap from an upholstery project.
