A black painted and tiny hat with a big, whimsical presence. It's the perfect upcycled accessory to wear when you want to feel discreetly ridiculous.  It is a one of a kind, painted hat upcycled mostly from repurposed kitchen trash.  The small round base is made from a plastic bowl and the bouquet of flowers that crown it is made from egg cartons.  Pearl white and metallic bronze highlights give it a bit of shimmer and green fabric leaves plucked from a thrifted wreath add a bit of contrast. It is finished with a twisted black, gold and white chiffon hatband tied in a bow at the back.

  • This whimsical black painted hat shimmers with bronze and has pearlized white dots and edges. It is tiny, round, and lightweight.  It was created from repurposed trash, and thrifted and salvaged items, that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. The base and the flower bouquet are handpainted, inside and out, with acrylic paints and the small fascinator has been lacquered multiple times, making it water and scratch-resistant.*  The hatband is scrap fabric from a pirate wench skirt I made. Cock at a slight angle and secure it to your hair, wig, or even a knit cap with crisscrossing bobby pins** slipped through the green loops.

    *Care:

Handle with care. Hold hat sides, NOT by the brim or flowers.
Clean with a feather duster or spot clean gently with a soft cotton or bamboo rag and a drop of water. No chemicals, abrasive materials, or sharply pointed metals.

While this hat is lacquered and water-resistant, it is not necessarily waterproof. Cover it if caught in the rain or when near misters. If it does get wet, gently shake off water droplets, pat it with a tea towel, and set it to dry in the sunshine or in front of a fan on a low setting.
    Store in a dry place.
